Good bait=Good Fishing on Siesta Key!
Baitfish are plentiful on the grass flats near both Big Sarasota Pass and New Pass in Sarasota, Florida right now. Fish need to eat and will usually not be far from the groceries. Finding and using bait is the key to success this time of year. Anglers can either use the bait schools to attract gamefish or catch the bait and use it be successful. Clients on Sarasota fishing charters are doing both, using artificial lures and live bait to catch Spanish mackere, snook, reds, trout, grouper, snapper, grouper, and more. The water temperature is still pretty high, so the deeper flats have been more productive.
