Good Fishing on Sarasota fishing charters
Clients on Siesta Key fishing charters in Sarasota, Florida did well this week on the deep grass flats near Big Sarasota Pass. The water temperature was down into the upper 70s and fish werre active ahead of the Tropical Storm Nate. Chumming with pilchards produced Spanish mackerel to 4 pounds, bluefish to 3 pounds, speckled trout, gag grouper, mangrove snapper, jack crevelle, ladyfish, sharks, and more. Action in the backwaters is increasing as snook move into the back bays. Snook will respond to chum as well, if you can get a bait past the voracious schools of jacks! I also did a little prospecting in the Manatee River on one breezy day. Snook, bass, sunshine bass, bream, and ladyfish hit small spinnerbaits and Rapala jerk baits. This action will get better as it cools off.
