Good snook fishing off of Siesta Key
Big Sarasota Pass flows between Siesta Key and lido Key and connects the Gulf of Mexico with Sarasota Bay. The north shore of Siesta Key consists of rocky structure and docks, and has fairly deep water with a good current flow. This is prime habitat to hold snook in the summer time! Snook move out of the backcountry anfd stage in the passes and inlets throughout the state before moving out onto the beaches to spwan. Live bait such as pilchards, pinfish, and shrimp produce best, but artificial lures will catch a few as well. Cliens going out on Siesta Key fishing charters can experience this action will continue until the first cool snaps in September.
