Great fishing in Big Sarasota Pass!
Big Sarasota Pass lies between Siesta Key on the south and Lido Key to the north and connects the Gulf of Mexico to Sarasota Bay. It is a vertual fish highway as bait fish and game fish migrate back and forth. Spring is often the best time of year to work the pass as the sheepshead run is in full swing. Spanish mackerel, pompano, bluefish, and ladyfish are also landed daily on Siesta Key fishing charters using both live and artificial baits. This is a great situation for younger and novice anglers and the action is usually fast and furious!
