Sheepshead showing on at Siesta Key
Sheepshead are starting to move into Sarasota Bay, inhabiting the structure and docks in Big Pass and along Siesta Key. These tasty saltwater panfish are a staple for clients that go fishing in Sarasota that are targeting good action and great eating! Sheepies love structure and are found around docks, bridges, rocks, seawalls, and oyster bars. They rarely hit and artificial lure but eat crustaceans such as shrimp, fiddler crabs, and sand fleas. Bait fished on the bottom with a little bit of weight will fool them.
