Siesta Key fishing bounces back after Hermine
Hurricane Hermine dumped a bunch of fresh water into Sarasota Bay last week. But, the fishing quickly returned to normal and here is my Siesta Key fishing report. The water did have a stained look, but was not muddy, and the temperature dropped into the low 80's. Bait has been plentiful and easy to catch. Anglers on fishing charters experienced good action on the flats new Big Sarasota Pass and New Pass using both live and artificial baits, catching plenty of trout, mackerel, jascks, snapper, and more. The bite should only improve as fish move into their fall patterns.
