Fast action on Siesta Key fishing charters
Fishing has been VERY good this summer for anglers and clients near Siesta Key, in Sarasota, Florida. The speckled trout bite has been one of the best in years with both numbers and quality sized fish. I am using live baitfish such as pilchards and threadfins on most of my charters. Getting out there early has been important to both catch the early morning feed and to beat the heat of the day. The deep grass flats on the north side of Siesta Key and near Bird Key continued to provide great action. This is a family friendly type of fishing.
Snook fishing has also been good off of Siesta Key, both at Point of Rocks on the Gulf side and in Big Sarasota Pass on the north side of Siesta Key. Plenty of structure and deep water attract and hold schools of snook, Florida's premier inshore gamefish. Live shrimp, pilchards, and pinfish work best.
