Fishing bounced back in Sarasota
We experienced a pretty severe front mid-week here in Siesta Key, Sarasota, Florida. Strong winds and temperatures around forty degrees shut down the bite for a couple of days. I got back out Thursday afternoon and the bite was slow and it was cool and breezy. However, on Friday morning clients on my fishing charters did VERY well in Big Sarasota Pass, catching sheepshead, snapper, and grouper bottom fishing with live shrimp. We just came off a full moon and it seems like a new batch of fish moved in to spawn. Drifting the pass with live shrimp and jigs resulted in a nice Spanish mackerel and a bunch of ladyfish. The forecast is good for the next ten days and action should be good both in the passes and on the deep flats.
