Good fishing on Siesta Key despite strong winds
It has been VERY breezy the last few days, with winds out of the east and northeast at 20 knots and more. Despite the wind, fishing has been very productive, the key being finding a lee shore to fish. As the wind swings east, Siesta Key offers a break from the wind in Big Pass, giving clients a chance to fish Big Sarasota Pass. Structure in the pass continued to hold good numbers of sheepshead with some snapper mixed in. Ladyfish are plentiful in the middle of the pass and are hitting jigs and live shrimp. Speckled trout are biting up in the north bay, but the wind does come into play up there.
