Good speckled trout fishing on Siesta Key
Weather has finally stabilized and the water clearing and we are experiencing normal summer patterns. That means east winds in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Clients fishing in Sarasota have landed 23" speckled trout and the last two charters using live bait fished over grass beds in 6' to 8' of water. Plenty of ladyfish were landed as well. Baitfish are plentiful on the flats, though it is too small to net and use right now. It does, however, attract the gamefish such as trout, bluefish, mackerel, and more. This good action should continue all summer!
