Sarasota fishing charter clients land snook, redfish, and more!
Fishing was good in Sarasota Bay this week. Anglers caught snook, redfish, speckled trout, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, pompano, jack crevelle, gag grouper, mangrove snapper, ladyfish, and more. Rapala X-Raps, Bass Assassin jigs, Clouser Minnow fly patterns, and live shrimp all produced this week on Sarasota fishing charters.
Doc Dojutrek went on his annual birthday fishing charter on Monday. We started off casting Rapala X-Raps around shorelines and bars along Siesta Key and caught snook, snapper, jacks, and ladyfish. Shrimp fished under docks produced redfish, snapper, and a pompano. Casting jigs at the Middlegrounds resulted in more trout and ladyfish.
Later in the week clients fished the deep grass flats, experiencing good action on both spinning and fly gear. Jigs and chartreuse/white Clouser patterns caught speckled trout to 20", bluefish to 2 1/2 pounds, Spanish mackerel to 3 pounds, jacks, sailcats, ladyfish, and other species. The Middlegrounds and Bishop's Pt. were the top spots.
