Snook, snapper pleasing Siesta Key anglers on fishing charters
Soild fishing continues in Robert's Bay at the north end of Siesta Key. Clients did well casting small shallow diving plugs around schools of glass minnows on grass flats as well as near docks in residential canals. Snook to 26" were landed along with a few really nice mangrove snapper and several jack crevelle and sennett. An outgoing tide at first light was the best time to do this. Also, the deep grass flats to the north at Middlegrounds and Helicopter Shoal provided good action on speckled trout to 20", bluefish, jacks, and ladyfish. Bass Assassin jigs and live shrimp were both productive.
