Weather a factor on Siesta Key
Strong weather systems continue to move through Sarasota, affecting the fishing. Strong winds make it unsafe to venture out and also churns up the water. The key to angling success after the front is to find clean water to fish. After several days the water clears up throughout the area, weather a factor. Despite the weather, persistent clients on Siesta Key fishing charters found success on a variety of species. Sheepshead are one fish that do not mind dirty water, sometimes even becoming more aggressive. Snook and redfish were caught under docks in Robert's Bay. Speckled trout were plentiful in north Sarasota Bay where the water was cleaner. As Spring progresses, these fronts will become less impactful and hopefully we will get a nice run of mackerel and false albacore out on the beach.
