Siesta Key fishing good despite wind
Clients taking a fishing charter with me this week had to battle the wind before a severe cold front moved through on Thursday morning. The bite was decent in Big Pass early in the week, with anglers catching mackerel, ladyfish, sheepshead and snapper. Grass flats nearby produced speckled trout and ladyfish for customers casting jigs. By Tuesday the water was pretty murky from the wind and the bite slowed a bit. Live bait produced snook, jack crevelle, and mangrove snapper south of the Siesta Drive Bridge. Strong winds shut things down on Thursday and FRiday, but the forecast for Easter week looks good.
